Soft · light loft · flexible
Subtle cushioning without bulk.

Visible padding and stronger quilting definition.

The simplest way to remember it
H630 = light padding
H640 = fuller padding
Decovil® I Light = flexible structure
Decovil® I = heavyweight structure
H609 = stretch-knit support
G785 = delicate-woven support

Don't mix these up

H630 & H640 are battings

They add softness, cushioning and loft. They don't create the firm shape of a bag stabilizer.

Decovil® I Light & Decovil® I are structural stabilizers

They add shape and firmness. They don't give the plush, padded effect of batting.

H609 & G785 are garment interfacings

They support clothing while respecting the fabric. H609 is for true stretch knits; G785 is for fine woven and lightly elastic fabrics.

Every product

Before you fuse

The same fundamentals apply across the range. Each product page lists its own iron time and whether to use a damp cloth.

1Always test the product on a scrap of the exact outer fabric before you begin.
2Place the coated or adhesive side against the wrong side of the fabric.
3Press the iron down, lift it, and move to the next section. Don't slide the iron unless the product instructions say otherwise.
4Use a damp pressing cloth when directed — steam alone is not an equivalent substitute.
5Let fused pieces cool completely, lying flat, for about 30 minutes. The bond develops and stabilizes as it cools.
6Don't judge the bond while the piece is still hot. Care for the finished project according to its most delicate material.
Glossary

The words on the label

Loft
The thickness, puffiness or volume added by batting. More loft doesn't mean more structural firmness.
Structure
How strongly a project holds its shape and resists collapsing.
Padding
A soft, cushioned layer. It adds body without making a project rigid.
Drape
The way a fabric hangs, falls and moves. Fine interfacing should support fabric without destroying its drape.
Fusible
A product with heat-activated adhesive on one side. The coated side goes against the wrong side of the fabric and bonds with heat, pressure, time and — where directed — moisture.
Woven vs knit interfacing
Woven interfacing has a woven thread structure and must be grain-aligned; knit interfacing flexes and stretches, so it suits elastic garment fabrics.
OEKO-TEX® Standard 100
Certification that the tested textile has been checked for harmful substances. Class I is the strictest (babies and children up to three); Class II covers articles with direct skin contact. It certifies the Vlieseline material, not every finished item made from it.
