What it does

H630 is a lightweight, one-sided fusible batting that adds a thin, even layer of softness, light warmth and gentle volume.

It helps keep the batting and fabric controlled while sewing, and gives quilting and topstitching subtle definition.

The finished fabric stays flexible — H630 adds loft and body, not firm structural support.

Choose it when

You want the softness of fusible fleece without creating a thick, bulky or rigid result.

Use it for

For patchwork and quilting, topstitching, voluminous tie-backs and warm clothing, such as jackets and coats. Suitable for light- to medium weight fabrics.

How to fuse it

Hand iron with damp cloth · 15 s · test a scrap first
1Lay the interlining with the coated side facing the reverse side of the fabric.
2Cover with a damp cloth and iron for around 15 seconds, working section by section and not pushing the iron.
3After fixing, lay the pieces down flat to cool for around 30 minutes to let the bond stabilise.

Best on light- to medium-weight fabrics. Always fuse-test the exact fabric first.

Choose something else if…

The bag, panel or base must hold a firm shape — choose Decovil® I Light or Decovil® I
You want a fuller, puffier, more visibly padded surface — choose H640
The fabric must retain high stretch and recovery — choose H609
The outer fabric is very delicate, coated or heat-sensitive and fails a fuse test
You need a flame-resistant or high-heat protective batting
Maker tip

For quilted bags and accessories, follow the pattern's recommended layer order. Vlieseline also recommends quilting the batting and lining together as one unit.
